Going Floral

Are you ready for the fall? Another greatitem to have this fall is floral patterns. You can find floral patterns in tops, pants, shoes etc. I found this cute fall floral pattern dress from Old Navy. It's a very versatile dress. I can add a belt to it and instead of heels I can wear flats, ankle boots, high boots and even sneakers; yet it will still go with the dress. I wore this outfit with sandals this time around because it is still very warm outside and the fabric is light enough for this weather and for the fall. So Long Summer!

This season is coming to an end. The kids are starting to head back to school and most things go back to normal for me as a mom. So, what better way than to end the summer season than being at the beach? I have been wanting to shoot this dress from Forever 21 at the beach since the beginning of Summer but never got the chance to do it until now at the end of it. The color of the dress is not only perfect for summer but also for the fall. I can easily change the look by adding a bomber jacket to it. It is a versatile dress at a great price. Transitioning from Summer to Fall

How to transition from summer to fall. For many (like myself) it's hard to say goodbye to summer especially if you are living in NYC which gets cold during the winter days (let's not think about that yet); so we tend to really appreciate summer days, and it is why it's hard to let it go. I know many of us this summer have gotten many slip on dresses because they are a great on the go item. You can put them on with basically any type of shoes. So in the post we are not letting go of our slip on dress now that fall is here. Instead, we are going to introduce the slip on dress with a tee under. In this post I put on a slip on dress from TopShop that I bought on Nordstrom and I added the white tee from Zara. I made the look a little more fall like by adding a grey open toe shoes from Adam Tucker that I got at DSW (they have a great selection of fall shoes). Also one great thing about slip on dresses is that you can also use a regular shirt, sweater or a jacket, and it changes the look from summer to fall. Romwe

I was searching on Pinterest (which I love) and came across this store that has great items and a good price range. I purchased this cute little summer top from them. I love the details of the flowers and the open back design. The top goes perfectly with shorts, skirts, and long pants. They have many other great pieces as well. Monaco

The last country I visited on my European trip was Monaco. It is such a clean and rich little country; little because it is only three miles long and one mile wide. It's even smaller than my home country of Puerto Rico.  Monaco is roughly the same size as Central Park!  We were able to take the local bus around the whole country. I did a little shoot around some of the great spots in Monaco. I wore a forever 21 stripe skirt (one of my favorite skirts this summer) with a black bodysuit from Zara that I got on sale for just $12.99. Zara has been having a summer sale therefore you should check it out in stores and online. The shoes are again another favorite of mine from Forever 21. I had a great time in Monaco. The next stop on our two week vacation was France. I had such a great time and had the opportunity to visit a couple of places in France like Cannes, Nice, and Marseilles. What better place to do a little shoot than here. In this shoot we were in Marseilles, France and I am wearing a wrap denim dress that I purchased at Gap. I love everything about this Gap dress. It has a nice open back. It is also very comfortable. I wore it during hot temperatures above 90 and we walked a lot. There was not a time that I felt that I was too hot because of the dress.

This summer we started our vacation in Italy and we rented a home in Vico Equense, Italy. It was a small town atop the mountains that was filled with loving people and Italian culture. The views from the home were spectacular. I decided to do a little shoot from the pool and some local streets. I wore an off the shoulder rose colored dress from Forever 21. I purchased the dress in the store for under $25. One of this summer's trends is tops and dresses that are off the shoulder. If you can try to own one of these pieces. It gives a little sexy and fun flair to your look. I had such a great time in Italy. We visited amazingly beautiful places like the Amalfi coast, Rome, Sorrento, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, and Capri. Italy has such a great culture and its people are beyond kind hearted. I can't wait to go back one day!

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are in again this year and for this blog I found myself a nice white jumpsuit. This outfit actually looks like I am wearing a top with shorts, but it is Zara simply one piece. I bought the outfit at the store for $39.99. I searched for it online but they are no longer have it available. Sorry guys! But, I have added a link with reasonably price jumpsuits from different stores for under $40. Check out the links below. This time of year is great to buy a one piece item. You simply put it on and go. It is as simple as that. You can dress this piece up with heels and the right accessories, or you can you put onflats and make it a comfortable piece. Weekend Getaway

I went to celebrate my anniversary with the hubby and we spent a night at a nice little town in Connecticut called Norwalk. Everything is very close by the Inn where  stayed in. During our night out we decided to go to a new Latin Fusion restaurant called Aji 10. I decided to wear this cute forever 21 open back dress for $24.90 that I purchased at the store. I looked online to see if I can post the link to the dress in this blog but couldn't find it. A lot of pieces that you find at the store you can't find online. So, if you are interested in this item I would suggest to go to the Forever 21 store. It was a great dress to go out at night with the hubs.

Old Navy has gone a long way since the days of its inception. They have expanded their market from young children and teenagers to young adults and older adults. Old Navy has a lot of great pieces from sandals, dresses, shorts, shirts and bags. You will definitely find something that you like. This Old Navy linen dress is perfect for those spring and summer days. The fabric is light and loose. Check out Old Navy's various selections at your local store or online.

A Mother's Love

I was super excited when I first found out that I was going to be a mother. My husband and I had planned the pregnancy. I really wanted to be a mother and carry a life for 9 months. I never knew then how much my daughter was going to change my life and how much I was going to love this tiny little creature, but I instantly fell in love. No one tells you how hard it is to be a mother; the countless times you have to wake up in the middle of the night, the times that they get sick and you can't leave their sight until they feel better, or all the times they fall and hurt themselves and you feel helpless. I have cried many times, especially when my daughter was younger. She had a lot of energy more than Iwas ready to handle. She would want to climb anything and would run around nonstop. She would fall and hurt herself a lot, and I would call my mom crying about it. I hated the feeling of helplessness. My mother would give me words of encouragement and would make me feel at ease. Motherhood is about trying to control your child's environment and make sure your child is okay, but at the same time feeling like you have no control of anything. Regardless of the difficulties of motherhood I would never trade it in for anything in the world. For this Mother's Day I decided to do a little special shoot with my baby girl (she will always be my baby in my eyes) and spend a special moment together. These are the moments that last a lifetime. I usually buy clothing that is versatile; clothing that can be worn in multiple ways. I like to purchase different types of tops and bottoms to have many options to mix and match. Spring has Sprung

The warmer weather has begun in NYC and the spring jackets are out. Everyone is out and about wearing their spring and summer outfits. I found this great spring/summer dress at forever 21 for $12.90. I bought it in a nice blue color. The best part about the dress is that you can wear it with heels, sandals, or sneakers. You can use it for the beach as a cover up or you can dress it up for a night out on the town. I think it's a great piece to own. I also bought this boater hat from Forever 21, which is a great quality for the just  $14.90.  You can have great pieces in your closet for under $20 each.

Hello Spring

As the weather in NYC becomes warmer the layers start coming off. We begin wearing less bulky items. The other day I went out with a couple of friends and decided to wear something light since it was a really pleasant weekend in NY. I wore a light weight button down shirt from H&M; perfect for spring weather. I paired it up with high waisted jeans from forever 21. Lastly, I went into Marshall's a couple of weeks ago and found these great suede Steve Madden pumps. The aviator glasses are from Ray-ban. I love their selection because their styles go perfect with my  small framed face. Now that spring has officially begun, begin to shed your winter weight off by taking off those winter layers.

Blast from the Past

I am usually a dress up kind of gal. I love heels, and I have many, but what you usually find little of in my closet are sneakers. I am not such a sneaker fan, but lately I have been wanting to dress a little more comfortably, especially when running errands, so I decided to go sneaker shopping and came across the adidas Stan Smith edition. These sneakersbrought back so many memories of when I was younger (it is as if I had taken a time machine into the past). I remember having these sneakers in several different colors. They were my go to sneakers. Since I loved them when I was younger I gave them another go, and I am in love all over again! This time around Adidas has made these sneakers a lot more comfortable by adding an otholite cushion inside. I purchased them from footlocker for $65 in a kid's size because the smallest women's sizes fit me too big. If you are in search of sneakers that are not used with the intention of running and exercising then you should definitely try these Adidas.

Casual Weekend Look

You can wear this outfit to go for brunch with friends or a casual dinner date. I decided to wear an off the shoulder top that I bought from H&M for $17. If you can you should own one item that is off the shoulder since these tops and dresses are very in this season. It's a top that is sexy but doesn't show too much. I wore it with jeggings that I purchased from Gap. I love the way it fits my body and found it on sale for only $30. Lastly, I added a splash of color with suede pumps from Zara that were on sale for $29.99. The shoes were a great price for real suede, and the color is such a perfect spring color.

Blue Valentine

Firstly, let me apologize for the delay in my blog. This has been a difficult time for me since mid-December when my husband underwent surgery. It was a difficult time because I had to take on the role of a mother, father, and a nurse. I can say that I am thankful for family and friends that were there to help me through it all. Now, this blog is to celebrate Love. I am grateful to have a great person beside me who has not been perfect, but through the imperfections we have been able to grow and understand one another. This month of February is not about just boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, or wives but it is also about friends, family, sisters, brothers, etc. Let's celebrate the love we have for each each; recognize those that have been there for us in the good and in the bad. For this post I decided to wear something blue. I know how much my husband loved me in the black dress so I found a similar dress in a beautiful blue color that goes great with my skin, and also goes great with any skin complexion. I found it online at lulus.com. We live in NYC and what better place to take our pictures than in best way to commute to the city without the headache of trying to find a parking spot (which is hard to find depending on the neighborhood). I love shooting with the hubs because he frames me really well. So, this Valentine's weekend go and celebrate Love!

Black and White

In this week's post I wanted to show how you can create a manly yet at the same time feminine look. I am wearing wide legged pants that were purchased last year at H&M for under $30. I am short so I took my pants to a seamstress to cut some inches off. Always remember that if you find a piece of clothing that you like and they don't have your size you can always tailor it to fit you. I am also wearing a t-shirt that I got from AMVI it cost me a little more but it is a well made shirt with great quality and texture. Also, this shirt is made in the U.S.A. and I believe in supporting local small businesses. Check them out. The blazer is from H&M that I got for under $35. I love that it goes great with any bottom. Finally, I went with nude color heels and a purse.

Happy New Year

Starting the new year off with a simple outfit. I am the type of person that likes to only write down one or two goals for the year and add more as the year progresses. I don't add too many goals so that I do not end up only doing half of what I proposed to do and feeling like I have failed. Therefore, I like to keep it simple just like I kept it simple in this first post of 2016. I am wearing a light colored tube dress from Forever 21 that I purchased for just under $15. I accompanied it with a pair of tall burgundy high boots that my husband got me for Christmas (thanks hun for the gift 😉) the heels are not too high so they are boots that you can use every day. I also added a long cardigan from H&M for $24.99. I finalized the outfit with a simple black clutch from forever 21 for just $7 on sale and a burgundy necklace from H&M. Remember to write down your goals for this New Year, and make sure that you follow through in accomplishing each and everyone one of those goals.
